Why This Album Is So Great:
There's something irresistible about Sheryl Crow. Her ability to write a great
song and at the same time tell a moving story is impressive and one can wonder why she
wasn't discovered a long time ago. Anyway, I almost put both her albums on the top 50
list, simply because they're both great achievements. However, in the end I decided to
only include one and the hard choice fell out to the advantage of her second selfentitled
album. Mainly because it has a little bit more edge than this debut. Anyway,
"All I Wanna Do" was the monster hit, but songs like "Run, Baby, Run"
and "We Do What We Can" are even stronger and leave a greater impression. More
or less, the entire album marks an outstanding debut from an artist who's still growing
and could make it even bigger. Mind you, with Sheryl Crow, you probably wouldn't wish for
this to happen. Her music and personality somehow just don't fit into the mega star
picture. At least not to me. Anyway, she's put out three albums and the latest, "The
Globe Sessions" sounds really promising too.
