Why This Album Is So Great:

This is another great best of compilation that faces the everlasting problem. The band has made so many great albums that it's hard to cook down the material to fit on one CD. This is probably why there also exists a "Very Best Of 2" with Supertramp. However, the sequel was not planned at the time this album was released and one must therefore conclude that all the best material has been put on the first collection. And more or less, all the hits are here in their full length. Supertramp's songs have a tendency to last more than just 4 or 5 minutes and thankfully the record company have left them untouched and not started putting all kinds of crap single versions on the album. Anyway, there's not too much I can say about the music. I really like Supertramp and therefore it should not come as a surprise that I have one of their albums on my top 50 list ("Breakfast In America"). That it's their greatest hits album in this case means that the individual albums are all great and that one should dig into these to really get to know Supertramp.
