R.E.M.

Comments about R.E.M.:
I've never
been a huge fan of early R.E.M., and I think songs like "Shiny Happy People" are
absolutely awful. But to me, fortunately, R.E.M. have moved away from these blunders and
evolved into an extremely mature rock band with one of the most charismatic lead singers
around. Ever since they released "Automatic For The People", my world has not
been the same. The album is packed with classics, and the band have more or less pursued
this path ever since. I've grown to become a huge fan. Le

"R.E.M.
mark the point when post-punk turned into alternative rock. They have inspired countless
of bands, from the legions of jangle-pop groups in the mid-'80s to scores of
alternative-pop groups in the '90s, who admired their slow climb to stardom."
