Genre: Rock

Record Label: EMI.
Anybody who's even remotely
interested in rock music knows this album. It's a classic. Therefore, I don't really need
to explain too much why this double CD is among my 50 best. My reasons for loving this
album are probably the same as everybody else. It's the best Pink Floyd has ever done,
even though "Wish You Were Here" is a close second. The band is also on my Top
25 Artist List, but I'm clearly most into the material from "Wish" and on. The
very early Pink Floyd is not really my cup of tea (to use a good traditional English
phrase). However, the latest effort "The Division Bell" also has its
shortcomings. It's simply too well produced. So, the era where Roger Waters was still in
the band and everything was still together stand as the most important for me. And here
"The Wall" shines as the greatest landmark.
Overall Rating (on a scale from 1 to 10):9
The Beatles (late), U2.
