Why This
Album Is So Great:
So, Michael Hutchence is dead...Well, that's really sad. But at least he did
leave behind some great music with his mates in INXS. I used to be really into the music
of INXS, but since then I've moved on to more alternative and down-to-earth genres. So
originally, it would be very hard for an INXS album to make its way to the top 50 list.
That is, if they hadn't made this great rock album back in 1992. Everybody else holds out
"Kick" to be INXS at their peak. I disagree. "Welcome To Wherever You
Are" is much more mature and "whole" as an album. The songs leave a greater
impression and the rock hooks are a lot stronger here. There may not be the obvious hit
like "Need You Tonight", but instead you get great rock songs like "Heaven
Sent", "Taste It" and "Strange Desire". So, the next time you
find this album really cheap in the discount rack, do yourself the favour to buy it. You
will not regret it.
