THE HOT AND NOT LIST as of August 27th

Hotlist
. I love discovering new bands and Lush have
been a well-kept secret for me until now. I'm really crazy about this kind of music and
soon they'll be a not unimportant part of my CD collection.
Lenny Kravitz: "5". After a
couple of good but not as good as his talent enables albums by Lenny Kravitz, it's good to
find him back in groovy style as we know him. And Thank God (?) he has put his very
religious style from the last album behind him.
I'm listening to a lot of The Beatles at
the moment. My interest for them sort of comes and goes and right now it's liberating to
listen to their simple and catchy music.
Mono: "Formica Blues". I just
have to put this one on my Hotlist and yet again encourage everybody who loves
sophisticated pop music to check this band out. They're numero uno!!
Notlist
Basically, I don't have any bitching to do this time. I guess
I've been too busy to keep track of all the negative stuff happening in the music
industry.
Mike
Horse:
Mike Horse has just gotten a new girlfriend, so he hasn't had the
time (......) to put together his HOT & NOT this time. But he'll be back next time. If
you wish to congratulate him with his luuurve situation, send him an E-mail here.

- New CD's with P.J.Harvey, REM, and Sebadoh
within a few months this fall. Amazing !
- The new single "A Perfect Day Elise" by P.J.Harvey
- The band called Gomez. Very promising.
- Alternative Nation on MTV has now got two
broadcastings per week (still in the wee hours though)
- Music in general (I just survived a 12 day period without it !)
Notlist
That music videos
is lacking recognition as an art form. Music videos are not JUST advertisements aimed at
selling records. They CAN be beautiful, inspiring, mind expanding art, and deserve
recognition alongside all other means of expression.
