The
Hotlist

THE HOT AND NOT LIST as of June 21st
1998
Le Mec:
Hotlist Having gotten great response to this website.
A spring/summer with so many great new releases.
The Smashing Pumpkins: "Adore".
Garbage: "Version 2.0".
Finding out that Live will be releasing a
new album later this year or early next year.
Duran Duran releasing their 12"
versions on CD. A big minus, though, 'cos the CD is only available in the US.
Del Amitri soon to be releasing a best-of
album, including a B-sides compilation!
A new and improved website for The Ultimate Band List.
Aaron Carter soon to hit puberty and the
following voice problems he might encounter.
Nik Kershaw getting yet another revival in
Denmark.
Notlist
- The ridiculous amount of soccer
anthems we have to put up with during the World Cup.
- The hundreds of female artists more or less ripping off Alanis Morissette. Will she ever
get a chance with her second album?
- Duran Duran's record company not being
able to get off their arse and release "Medazzaland" in Europe. Fortunately,
it's available through import.
- Boybands and girlbands.
What'll happen to Spice Girls now that fifty percent of their breast mass has gone...?
- The conservatism of certain Danish music critics.
Great music is more than dinosaurs like Van Morrison, Lou Reed, Bowie and Rolling Stones.
- MTV and other music channels drowning in commercials and uninteresting TV spots. We want
music!

- Smashing Pumpkins:
"Adore".
- Recordable miniDiscs.
- Björk's "Hunter"-video.
- VJ's Kiki and Ulrika of MTV's "Select MTV".
- K's Choice: "Cocoon Crash".
Check out the first single "Believe".
- All Saints' new interpretation of Red Hot
Chili Peppers' "Under The Bridge". Finally not just another rip-off or sampling.
- Shania Twain. Her crossover between
country and pop actually works!
- Jimmy Page's guitar riffs on Puff Daddy's
new song for the "Godzilla" movie.
- Live's "Turn My Head" from
"Secret Samadhi". Probably the greatest song of the '90's.
- Destiny's Child's "Shake your
booty"-dancing in their "No, No, No" video.
Notlist
- Bathroom facilities at music festivals.
- Aaron Carter, Hanson...and all the other music kids.
- The All Saints-chick marrying Robbie Williams...she needs glasses!
- Still no new R.E.M. or Live album.

Notlist
- Copy music having become a living for certain R/B and rap
musicians. Should be forbidden!
- Rock Under Broen (Rock Under The Bridge) (Danish one-day music festival).
- A festival where people come more for the junk food than for the music.
