THE HOT AND NOT
LIST as of May 21st 2000

- The The
live. Back in April I experienced a fabulous concert with a band that has come to mean a
lot to mean over the last ten years. And the show took me back to different eras of the
band's not very productive but remarkable career.
- Kent:
"Hagnesta Hill". Best album so far by the best rock band in Scandinavia right
now.
- Del Amitri
have started recording their new album. Apparently they have over 50 songs to choose from,
so expect a quality release later this year. Keep up to date at their British website at www.delamitri.co.uk.
- Juliana
Hatfield: "Beautiful Creature". One of two new albums by her
(the other is called "Total System Failure"). Once again she servers up a great
cocktail of personal acoustic rock songs with a very American feel.
- D:A:D:
"Everything Glows". Denmark's primary players in the rock department surprise
big time with a very varied album filled with pure quality. So even though you were
getting tired of their traditional style, this album should be checked out!
- Moby:
"Play". No matter what you may think of his weird way of presenting himself,
Moby's latest album is a rather interesting mix of contemporary dance and atmospheric
soundscapes.
- Don Henley:
"Inside Job". Brand new album that takes a while to get yourself around, but a
big welcome back to one of the most important forces behind the Eagles. Maybe a bit on the
serious side, but I guess he always was...
- A-ha:
"Minor Earth, Major Sky". Well, they're back as another dear friend from the
'80's. I personally missed them...
- Speaking about bands from the '80's,
look out for the new Duran Duran album "Pop Trash"
out on June 10th. If you're a fan an looking for rare music and bootlegs to download, try
these great sites: My Medazzaland or Poptrash.
- ...and yes, we actually did win the European Eurovision Song Contest which in itself deserves
a little smile (national pride). But come on, what's with all the hype now...? When you
look at it, the whole concept is still very dubious.
Notlist
- Hanson
are back. Remeber those annoying kids having a hit going "Mmmmmmm...bop"
constantly a couple of years back. Remember how they reminded you of your annoying little
brother? Well, they're back and now they're not only annoying - now they want to be taken
seriously. I'm speechless!!
- Danish radio station "The Voice". They may play all the latest hits and fun
may be what it's all about - but even so there should be a minimum level of quality. both
concering contents and the studio hosts. It ranges from fairly okay to downright
pathetic!!
