THE HOT AND NOT LIST as of January 17th
1999

Mansun: "Six". The boys have
done it again. They are one of the best bands on the British scene at the moment.
The Dandy Warhols: "...The Dandy
Warhols Come Down". I was pleasantly surprised when I finally got around to listening
to this album. The qualities go way beyond the single "Not If You Were The Last
Junkie On Earth".
Morcheeba: "Big Calm". Do
yourself the favour and give this album a listen. It might take a number of times before
you find the great vibe of the album but the rewards are worth the wait.
Discovering the high quality of The Cure's
B-Sides (not really a surprise , though). Like Suede and Radiohead this band has too much
to offer the world to fit on the albums alone.
If you have the chance to go, remember that Garbage
(January 29th) and Sheryl Crow (February
4th) play in Copenhagen in the near future.
Notlist
- The fact that D:A:D won practically every category in the Gaffa vote for the Danish music awards for 1998 is a clear sign that the
Danish music scene needs new blood. I mean, there's got to be a better alternative than
the old (and somewhat stagnating) rock band D:A:D...and I don't mean all the bands riding
on the Aqua wave of success.
- The beginning of the year offers few interesting album releases. We will have to wait a
couple of months for the cream to start flowing. For example a new album by Suede on May
3rd.
