THE HOT AND NOT LIST as of August 15th
1999
Le Mec:
Hotlist
Del
Amitri live. Seeing
them at the Skanderborg Festival in Denmark was pure joy. Too few people really know them
in Denmark which is a real shame. They seem to have a very tight fan base. Well, at least
people knew "Roll To Me" from the car ads...But if you haven't yet heard their
music, do yourself a favour and do so soon!
Thin
Lizzy. I've had yet
another period filled with the talent of Philip Lynott. And those guitars...
Pet Shop
Boys: "I Don't Know
What You Want But I Can't Give It Anymore". A new single that triggers great
expectations for the new album out in October.
Everything
But The Girl:
"Walking Wounded". A great album from 1996 with a classy trip hop style which
will apparently be continued on their new album "Temperamental".
Aarhus (second biggest city in Denmark for you foreign
folks) is finally starting to become a decent place to live when it comes to live music.
In the fall we get to experience Suede, Toto, Supergrass, Madder Rose, Heather Nova. So
maybe there's hope afterall...
Notlist
- I'm a pretty happy camper at the moment, so I think I'll spare some of the negative
vibes for once. With a lot of new albums coming out this fall I'll probably need them
then...
- Arh, well, alright...I saw this documentary about
Elvis - and even though he may have been the King -
not even the most fanatic fan can deny that he was fat and losing it towards the end. I
guess he was where Tom Jones is today. Plus 30 kilos...
Music
shopping on the Internet.
I don't know about you, but unless you live in the middle of nowhere, I have a hard time
seeing the reasons why one should buy music online. It's really hard to find any good
offers - in fact prices a often exactly the same as the shop around the corner. So far,
this so-called new world in music sales online has been a major disappointment to me!
