The
Hotlist

THE HOT AND NOT LIST as of August 9th
1998
Le Mec:
Hotlist . This Australian duo is just
totally awesome. It's really strange pop music but it really hits me where it matters.
Almost so much that they are approaching the Top 50 List.
The Drugstore feat. Thom Yorke: "El President". Yet another example
of Thom Yorke's beautiful voice and evidence that any band touching Radiohead these days
will probably experience huge success.
R.E.M.'s new album will be called
"Up" and is scheduled for release on October 26th.
The band Puressence might just be the new
big thing. At least if you like Radiohead and the like.
Check out Headswim: "Despite
Yourself". I sure will.
Notlist
- Toad The Wet Sprocket splitting up!
- Toad The Wet Sprocket splitting up!!
- Toad The Wet Sprocket splitting up!!!
- Toad The Wet Sprocket splitting up!!!!
- Toad The Wet Sprocket splitting up!!!!!
- Toad The Wet Sprocket splitting up!!!!!!
What a sad day for music. Alongside with Live and R.E.M. they were the kings of their
genre.
- Natalie Imbruglia: "Left Of The
Middle". Even though I think "Torn" is absolutely fantastic, I hate to say
that Natalie's debut album is almost a total rip-off of Alanis Morissette. The worst kind
- all the way down to the vocal frazing...... Boooooooooh!!

- "City of Angels"
soundtrack. Although I haven't heard it in its entirety, it seems to be packed with great
songs from top-notch artists.
- If you like The Cardigans, check out Solveig Sandnes'
"Timemachine". It's quite catchy with a cool underlying beat.
- Sheryl Crow's out with a new
single....hope the album will follow soon.
- Brilliant: Massive Attack's end track from
"The Jackal" movie.
- Downloading music-files from the internet - if you can't find it here, you can't find it
anywhere
- Staying up-to-date with the recording process of Live's
new album via their website.
- Mansun's "Legacy" video: rise
and fall of a rock band played by dolls - hilarious.
Notlist
- My buddy, Mec, is feeling down because Toad The Wet Sprocket split up. And
the worst is, I'm the one who told him the sad news.....
- Heavy/death/trash metal is probably the
worst music out there - I'm not even sure you should call it music, if you know what I
mean.
- Oasis's Gallagher brothers have an
attitude problem, a serious one - grow up, kids!
- Still a long time till the fall/winter releases of R.E.M., Live, Mike Oldfield and
Marillion's remastered "Misplaced Childhood".
- We are still having a hard time convincing some of our friends to buy Better Than Ezra's
"Friction, Baby" album - every decent CD-collection should include this one.

- New records from Sebadoh and R.E.M. to be released in October. Then I don't mind that
the fall is coming closer.
- Morcheeba's "Big Calm" record.
The perfect mixture of great songwriting, accoustic instruments and new technology.
- The Foo Fighters' song "Walking after
you"
- The solo song from Graham Coxon (Blur
guitarrist) called "I Wish".
Notlist
- It seems like every second song on Danish Radio (P3) is a Danish rap-song.
Why on earth does the radio feel like promoting this crap so heavily?? Is the radio really
controlled by spotty kids who think it's cool to immitate afro-American moves and to say
dirty words? Play some music instead, God damn it !
