The
Hotlist

THE HOT AND NOT LIST as of July 6th 1998
Le Mec:
Hotlist New albums on the way with Suede and R.E.M. Maybe even U2. It will
be a great autumn.
Brainpool - great Swedish band.
Britpoppish.
Constantly having to defend including Dave Stewart And The
Spiritual Cowboys as one of my favourite albums - then listening to it and
getting convinced again and again that it belongs there. Great album!!
Chumbawamba: "Tubthumper" -
great fun and brilliant use of synthesizers.
Echobelly: "On" - it surprises
me every time just how great this album is.
Dubstar: "Goodbye" - stubbornly
listening to this album again and again and then watching it open up layer after layer.
Still, as an album it doesn't beat their debut.
Early Duran Duran - I'm a fan and the
early stuff still rules big time. "Rio" is a major achievement of the eighties!
Notlist
- Even though it's a while back, losing the voice of Frank Sinatra. He was special.
- Not getting to experience Del Amitri at Midtfyns Festival.
- Trying to subscribe to the NME music
paper, but nothing ever happens. I wonder if they'll ever get their arse off the floor.
I've tried twice now!!
- Too many one-day music festivals in Denmark during the summer. People lose interest and
everybody loses money.

Horse:
Hotlist
- Garbage: "Version 2.0" -
maybe even better than their first album!?
- Meja: "All 'Bout The Money" -
the catchiest pop tune around right now.
- Kevin Costner sings a duet with Amy Grant
on "The Postman" soundtrack and surprisingly does a good job!
- Bran Van 3000: "Drinking In
L.A." - great weird song.
- Air: "Kelly Watch The Stars" -
great song and crazy video.
- Songs by great artists only to be found on various charity albums or soundtracks.
Notlist
- Enhanced CD's - often a major disappointment
- CD prices are still too high.
- Bob Dylan's voice - the guy knows how to
write great songs, but PLEASE let somebody else perform them!
- Lenny Kravitz's new single is
unfortunately too boring.
- Songs by great artists only to be found on various charity albums or soundtracks.

Jordan:
Roskilde Festival Special
Hotlist
- Speaker Bite Me.
- Jon Spencers Blues Explosion.
- Nikolaj Nørlund.
- Kristin Hersh.
- Garbage.
- Kent.
- Tori Amos.
- The biggest positive surprise: Black Sabbath.
- Ecological beer - makes you feel so healthy even after 12 bottles.
- The weather
- 4-1 on a big screen (Denmark- Nigeria, The World Cup).
- Rammstein must be the perfect wedding-orchestra.
Notlist
- Bleeder
- just boring.
- Max Cavalera's Soulfly
- I prefer listening to my neighbour drilling holes in the wall for two hours straight.
- Biggest disapointment: Sportsguitar (why oohh why do I have a CD with these guys ?).
- All the Swedes who are pierced, have neon-coloured hair and wear strange clothes, but
are STILL just your typical boring, reserved and conservative middle-off-the-road Swedes.
- One whole year to the next Roskilde festival.
