Why This
Album Is So Great:
"Frengers" is a magical combination of delicate pop songs and atmospheric
soundscapes, best illustrated by the brilliant closer "Comforting Sounds". The
music is heavily influenced by British shoegazer indie rock but somehow also has a very
Scandinavian feel. The very soft and bright lead vocal sets a
special tone and works wonders next to the sonic variation between walls of guitar noise
and peaceful moments of almost silence. It's very much an album you listen to and let
yourself be swept away in rather than the album you put on for a night out. But in this
very fact is also the album's strenght: It's one of those albums you can use to fill up on
mental and emotional fuel.Definitely one of the best albums to come out of Denmark - ever!
Overall Rating (on a scale from 1 to 10): 9
