Why This
Album Is So Great:
This is not just pop. This is the sound of pop and art reunited. Built on a
formula of simple melodies, atmosperic keyboards and discrete drum beats, Mono have
managed to put together an album full of great pop to drift away to. There isn't much
dance music here, but this was never the goal anyway. This is an album for late nights
with wine and the lights turned down low. In addition to this a good portion of melancholy
will create the perfect mood for listening to the album. The small hit of the album was
"Life In Mono" but listen to a song like "Hello Cleveland" and
understand what I mean by the whole art thing. This is the closest pop music gets to being
eligible for a place in the finest art galleries.
Overall Rating (on a scale from 1 to 10): 8
