Duran Duran

Comments about Duran Duran:
Duran Duran
were always a love child of mine. I grew up with them in the '80's and continue to be
faithful after two decades. The overall quality of their work may not be as brilliant as
before, but they still shape up the occasional musical diamond that makes it all worth it.
To me, Duran Duran stand for one of the most important things to happen musically in the
'80's. They'll probably have to throw me out of this life before I give up on
them... Le Mec.
"Duran
Duran personified New Wave for much of the mainstream audience. And for good reason, too.
While Duran Duran did have sharper pop sensibilities than their New Romantic
contemporaries like Spandau Ballet and Ultravox, none of their peers exploited MTV and
music video like the Birmingham-based quintet." Stephen Thomas
