Why This Album Is So Great:
I'm a Duran Duran fan - or whatever you call it - and have been since 1983-84
when the band really hit it big. Since then I have followed the ups and downs of the band
closely and I obviously have all the albums. The first five Duran albums are considered to
be the classic ones, but even so I think that "The Wedding Album" represents the
band at its very best. And I still remember one fine spring day in Marseilles, France, in
1993 when I heard "Ordinary World" for the first time. It just blew me away and
I still think today that it's the best song the band has ever recorded. And the song is
joined by many others like it on what is considered to be Duran Duran's big comeback in
1993. And in many ways also the album that finally earned the band some recognition in the
music business. "The Wedding Album" was the album that made it legal to actually
like Duran again and considering the image of the band during the eighties, this was quite
an achievement in itself. Of course, some of us have known all along that the initials
D.D. equal great music for any moment...
