Why This Album Is So Great:
This is one of the most depressing albums I own. The songs are very dark and the
arrangements are very heavy and synth oriented. All in all not an album to listen to if
you're suicidal...On the other hand, the album is packed with atmosphere and a great feel
to all the songs. I have mentioned before that I'm a sucker for melancholy and sentimental
music, and this album has it all to overdose on. Being such an intense affair, though, I
have to be in a certain mood to really enjoy the album and use its full potential. But
given the right mood etc., "Disintegration" just has fantastic musical passages
with "The Same Deep Water As You" as a more than nine minute long proof of this.
Overall, all these things taken into consideration, this is probably my favourite Cure
album.
Overall Rating (on a scale from 1 to 10):9
