Why This
Album Is So Great:
Radiohead is among my top 5 favourite bands at the moment, and "The
Bends" was the album that really made me listen to them. Besides "Creep" of
course...The album is filled with emotion-packed rock songs and some of the best ballads
of this decade. Take for example "High And Dry", "Fake Plastic trees"
and "Bullet Proof..I Wish I Was" and start tearing your heart out. It's hard to
make it more beautiful than that and the fact that Radiohead have done it with "O.K.
Computer" is pretty frightening. I mean, how great can this band possibly become?
Furthermore, Thom Yorke has got one of the most expressful voices on the music scene right
now. Nobody bleeds like Thom Yorke, Garbage said in an interview recently. They're right
and Radiohead have more than anyone else (maybe apart from Nirvana) made bleeding totally
cool again.
