Why This
Album Is So Great:
The moment Bryan Adams met Robert John "Mutt" Lange, he started to
become extremely successful. Unfortunately, it was also from this moment that his music
became less interesting, since it seemed like Mutt Lange had this plan to turn the little
Canadian into Def Leppard No. 2. So for many people, the golden times for Mr. Adams were
around the "Reckless" album. And it is a great album, but "Into The
Fire" represents a one-hit-wonder from the hand of Bryan Adams. The album just has a
fantastic feel to it and somehow a lot more substance. Just listen to the lyrics. It's
pretty much the only album where Adams actually shows that he wants to go somewhere as an
artist. Or...maybe it's just the only album where he actually sounds like an adult with
his music. And since I'm kind of a sucker for sentimental music, the album hits me below
the belt with its depressive subjects and great musical anthems. Keywords are longing,
losing in love, bitterness, and rebellion. The albums Adams made after this...we don't
talk about them. He even did a duet with Barbra Streisand and now another one with one of
the Spice Girls chicks. Good heavens!!
