Best Music Albums - Year By
Year: 1984

1. Frankie Goes To Hollywood:
Welcome To The Pleasuredome
 |
Frankie
brought to the world a new way of making pop music. Unfortunately, the inspiration only
lasted for one album - this one. Classics are "Relax", "War" and
"Two Tribes".

2. Thompson Twins: Into The Gap
 |
An album
filled with cool pop songs like "Hold Me Now" and "Doctor Doctor". A
touch of genious they never since found. More info... |
3. Nik Kershaw: The Riddle
 |
The brilliant
debut album was followed by another pack of great pop songs. Even today I still think
Kershaw's style is unique. |
4. Bryan Adams: Reckless
 |
By far the
best rock album of the year. Bryan Adams found the right mix of great songs and rock
attitude. |
5. Don Henley: Building The Perfect
Beast
 |
Henley's most commercial
album containing great songs like "The Boys Of Summer" and "All She Wants
To Do Is Dance". |
6. Alphaville: Forever Young
 |
"Big In
Japan" was one of the biggest hits of 1984. This was the album filled with the same
kind of songs. |
7. U2: The Unforgettable Fire
 |
An album somehow
difficult to get to know. It takes a while to really open up. Contains the single hit
"Pride (In The Name Of Love)".

8. Ultravox: Lament
 |
The last album where
Ultravox really shone. Contains "Dancing With Tears In My Eyes" but also much
better songs than this.

9. TV-2: Nutidens Unge
 |
The album that really
made TV-2 a househeld name in Denmark. This is were they found their true style and since
just refined it.

10. Talk Talk: It's My Life
 |
Talk Talk is at the
height of their career popularity-wise with singles like "It's My Life" and
"Dum Dum Girl". After this, it all become much more serious and ambitious. |
